We have an auction every month as well as private member-only auctions on a regular basis.
Valuations
The first step in selling your goods is to find out how much they are worth. Our expert team utilises a comprehensive database of previous sale results to provide you with an accurate guide to what price you are likely to obtain for your goods.
The results of all previous auctions are available online to members and you can browse or search this database to find out what other goods have been selling for.
We encourage all prospective sellers to value their goods and then send in or e-mail their lists and reserves. We will provide you with instructions on how and where to deliver your goods and the timing of our next auction.
Commission
Consignors pay a selling commission that is deducted from the purchase or hammer price. This charge is deducted only when the goods are sold and there is no charge for items unsold. In addition there is no minimum handling fee and the commission includes insurance (once in Fitzgerald's warehouse) and cataloguing. Please contact Fitzgerald Auctions for commission rates.
Reserves
Fitzgerald Auctions accepts reserves if the auctioneer believes this is achievable. Reserves are confidential, agreed upon in advance of the sale and understood as the minimum selling price. Fitzgerald Auctions exercises auctioneer' discretion at all times and seeks to achieve a fair market price. For more information please contact us.
Delivery
If your goods are suitable for auction and you wish to sell, delivery to our Auckland office is required. If you are located outside of Auckland or New Zealand, we can arrange to have your goods picked up and delivered to us. All goods that are delivered must be clearly itemised on a manifest for ease of transaction.
Upon delivery you will receive a receipt and you will also be advised which sale your goods are being entered into. Once your goods are in our warehouse they are fully covered at auction value under Fitzgerald Auctions insurance policy.
Payment
You will receive full payment from Fitzgerald Auctions within 30 days from the day of sale.
Confidentiality
Fitzgerald Auctions takes the confidentiality of our clients very seriously. All transactions with Fitzgerald Auctions are kept strictly confidential. Unless compelled by law, Fitzgerald Auctions will not disclose any personal or business information to any outside party for any reason.
