| Instructions for participating in our auctions appear below. 1. REGISTER FOR A PASSWORD AND ID Before you participate in an auction at Fitzgeralds, you must register by completing our members information form. We will send via email your ID and Password as soon as these details have been completed.
Keep your user ID and password in a safe place. You will need to login to the site to bid. If you do forget your password, you can apply to have a reminder sent to the email address that you used to register. 2. SELECT A LOT TO BID ON
Select "Browse Auctions" from the menu. You will see a list of up-coming auctions. Select "view lots" for the auction you wish to browse. Alternatively you can select an auction from the drop down list at the top of the page. This will list all lots that will be tendered at that particular auction.
Auction Search If you want to search for a particular item, type a term or phrase into our search engine and click "search". Please specify how many lots you would like displayed on each page.
3. ADD SELECTED ITEMS TO YOUR BID LIST As you identify items that you would like to bid on add them to your bid list by clicking on the checkmark at the end of each item. This will add the item to your bid list. You can access your bid list at anytime, bid on individual items or remove them. You will have an opportunity to check your bids for accuracy and completeness before they are processed. 4. PLACING A BID Logging in
To bid on an auction item, you will need to log in. Enter your username (your e-mail address) and password into the text boxes. If you have forgotten your password you can have it sent to the email address you registered under. The amount of the current highest bid will be displayed in the Current Bid text box of each item. Beside this enter the dollar value you wish to place for that particular product. The minimum bid quantity and the total number of items available will be shown to guide you. AutoBid
The AutoBid feature allows you to register the maximum bid you are prepared to make on an item and will automatically adjust your bid to the next winning bid amount when you have been outbid by another member. The amount of your maximum bid will remain undisclosed. You can increase your maximum bid at any time by returning to the "myBids" section. You cannot decrease a maximum bid once it has been placed. Once you have entered a bid value for all items on which you wish to bid, click on the "place bids" link at the bottom of the list. Your bids will be recorded. You will receive confirmation of your leading bid on the screen, unless there is an error with your bid or another bidder's autobid has outbid you. myBids
You may keep track of items you have bid on by using the myBids service. This area of the site shows current bids (both leading and trailing) you have placed. Alternatively, you can watch the bidding activity on a particular item. Outbid Notification
If you elected to receive outbid notices via email, you will be notified whenever you are outbid. If you are not sure if this feature was selected, it can be checked by updating your registration information (for global notification). Alternatively, you can check the list of bids you placed on your myBids page (where you can select notification for selected lots only).
